The Challenge
American Express needed a sophisticated calculator to help customers understand their credit utilization and improve financial wellness.
Specific Challenges:
- Build a credit utilization calculator tool for users to track and manage their credit usage effectively
- Ensure seamless integration with existing AEM infrastructure and compliance with security standards
- Adhere to strict brand guidelines and accessibility standards
- Create responsive interface for consistent experience on any device
The Solution
Developed a custom AEM module with precise mathematical algorithms, responsive design, and intuitive user interface.
Implementation Details:
- Individual Card Analysis: Users can add multiple credit cards to the system. For each card, the tool precisely calculates its utilization ratio, offering a granular view of spending patterns and available credit.
- Total Credit Utilization: Beyond individual card analysis, the tool aggregates the data from all entered cards to provide a holistic view of the user's total credit utilization. This allows users to understand their overall credit health and how close they are to their combined credit limits.
- Intuitive User Interface: The application was developed following a meticulous Figma design, ensuring a user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing experience.
- Robust Technical Implementation: Built as a custom AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) module, the tool leverages responsive CSS and JavaScript. This ensures seamless functionality and optimal display across various devices, from desktops to mobile phones, providing a consistent and accessible user experience.
